Continuous Circadian Phase Estimation Using Adaptive Notch Filter
Actigraphy has been widely used for the analysis of circadian rhythm. Current practice applies regression analysis to data from multiple days to estimate the circadian phase. This paper presents a filtering method for online processing of biometric data to estimate the circadian phase. We apply the proposed method on actigraphy data of fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster).
متن کاملAntiphase synchronization of phase-reduced oscillators using open-loop control.
In this report we present an elegant method to build and maintain an antiphase configuration of two nonlinear oscillators with different natural frequencies and dynamics described by the sinusoidal phase-reduced model. The antiphase synchronization is achieved using a common input that couples the oscillators and consists of a sequence of square pulses of appropriate amplitude and duration. Thi...
متن کاملAdaptive Fractional-order Control for Synchronization of Two Coupled Neurons in the External Electrical Stimulation
This paper addresses synchronizing two coupled chaotic FitzHugh–Nagumo (FHN) neurons with weakly gap junction under external electrical stimulation (EES). To transmit information among coupled neurons, by generalization of the integer-order FHN equations of the coupled system into the fractional-order in frequency domain using Crone approach, the behavior of each coupled neuron relies on its pa...
متن کاملAdaptive Control and Synchronization of Chua’s Circuits
In this work, we address the adaptive control and synchronization problems of Chua’s circuits with unknown system parameters. Adaptive controllers with single state feedback are derived such that the trajectory of the Chua’s circuit is globally stabilized to an equilibrium point of the uncontrolled system. In addition, the proposed adaptive control schemes are then applied to achieve state sync...
متن کاملInteractions between circadian neurons control temperature synchronization of Drosophila behavior.
Most animals rely on circadian clocks to synchronize their physiology and behavior with the day/night cycle. Light and temperature are the major physical variables that can synchronize circadian rhythms. Although the effects of light on circadian behavior have been studied in detail in Drosophila, the neuronal mechanisms underlying temperature synchronization of circadian behavior have received...
